Our Purpose
Lord’s Legacy Life Ministries is regulated and certified to provide services for individuals with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities under the 907 KAR 1:145 Supports for Community Living Waiver in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
At Lord’s Legacy Life Ministries we believe we are called to embody the actions and teachings of Jesus by assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in becoming more engaged and involved in their own lives. We embrace our purpose by building relationships with our participants, their families and our communities. We are committed to making a positive and measurable difference in people’s lives; by showing unconditional love and acceptance.
LLM prompted programs that are person centered and result oriented. We have found that when services are individualized, our participants can truly improve their circumstance, develop their potential, and become self-sufficient. Evaluating the advancement of our growth and development is crucial to delivering the highest-quality services within our capabilities.
When providing services to participants, LLM uses a community inclusion concept. This concept promotes active and meaningful participation of individuals, in all aspects of community life. It is based on the idea that every person should have the opportunity to fully engage in their community, access its resources, and contribute to its social, cultural, economic, and recreational activities.
Key elements of community inclusion concept includes:
Equal opportunities - Access to education, employment, housing, healthcare, and recreational activities within the community.
Diversity and acceptance - Fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment that values diversity, respects differences, and promotes understanding among community members.
Social Integration - Encouraging social interactions and relationships between individuals with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and characteristics.
Participation - Empowering individuals to actively engage in decision-making processes that affect their community and advocating for their own needs and interests.
Accessibility - Removing physical, communication, and attitudinal barriers that may hinder full participation for individuals with disabilities.
Support Services - Providing necessary support services and accommodations to help individuals fully in their community.
Advocacy - Promoting policies and practices that uphold the principles of community inclusion and protect the rights of individuals to be active and valued members of their community.
These key elements are promoted within our organization through education to the community and exposure with the concept that when marginalized individuals are seen as equals it is possible to reduce discrimination, stigma, and social isolation. And in turn, the marginalized are given an opportunity to lead a fulling and engaged life in their community.
In summary, LLM strives to achieve two main goals with supporting participants:
LLM is person-centered: We aim to help participants solve their problems, improve their circumstances, develop their potential, and beecome self-sufficient. Every type of service provided to participants is individualized to their preferences and differs greatly from one person to the next.
LLM is results-oriented: We measure our results by the progress and success of participants. We believe in the empowerment of people with disabilities. We respect partricipants right to privacy, the right to be treated with dignity, and value personal differences, preferences, and aspirations. We are here to identify options and present those options to participants.
Our Mission

Our History
LLM’s founder, Jeanene Mader, and her family have been actively involved in supporting participants with disabilities. Their family home, in fact, has been a “safe haven” for those in need. In 1996, the Maders opened their hearts and home to a wonderful young lady that was left abandoned and homeless after a life-altering car accident. She was immediately loved and soon became an addition to their family when Jeanene legally adopted her. After years of trying to find the best types of support in the community, Jeanene discovered that the appropriate supports and services that her daughter needed were not as readily available as they should be. Because of her conviction that every person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, she was determined to make a difference! In 2007, Jeanene founded Lord’s Legacy Life Ministries and began offering Residential Supports, Community Living Supports and Adult Day Training supports to those in need. The rest is history…
